Las Vegas Falls To League Champions Amarillo

Amarillo vs. Las Vegas - Saturday, Jan. 31

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - The Amarillo Bombers defeated the Las Vegas Turf Monsters 13–4 after breaking open a close game in the second and third quarters. Following a scoreless first quarter, Las Vegas struck first less than a minute into the second quarter on a goal by Andy Rodriguez. Amarillo would answer with eight straight goals and put the game almost out of reach.

Amarillo continued to add to the lead in the fourth, finishing the match with 13 goals on 42 shots compared to 19 shots for Las Vegas.  Las Vegas added two late goals in the final period, both by Miguel Higareda but Amarillo maintained control throughout to secure the win. 

Amarillo, Major League Indoor Soccer's reigning champions improved to 5-0 on the season, while Las Vegas in their inaugural season drops to 1-3 after the loss. 

Next up Amarillo takes on the South Conference leaders Orlando (6-0) in back to back home contests, while Las Vegas embarks on a 3-game road trip visiting Salt Lake City (4-3) on  Feb 15th, then Dallas (0-6) for back to back games on Feb 21st and Feb 22nd before ending their first season at home with 5 straight home games.
