Las Vegas Turf Monsters Sign First Player: Goalkeeper Hector Casillas

Las Vegas, NV  -- November 2025 -- The Las Vegas Turf Monsters are proud to announce the signing of the first official player in club history: goalkeeper Hector Casillas, a Las Vegas resident with deep roots in the local soccer community.

Casillas brings proven shot-stopping ability, strong leadership, and high-level experience to the Turf Monsters as the team builds its inaugural roster. He has played for various local teams, including Las Vegas Legends, Las Vegas Mobsters, Sin City FC, and Rebels United, competing in both indoor and outdoor leagues. In his youth soccer career, Casillas played for Manchester FC and LVSA 97Red, developing a strong foundation that has carried through his semi-professional and professional career.

Off the field, Casillas is also a hardworking family man and his young son is currently playing with Las Vegas Diversity FC, continuing the family’s involvement in the local soccer scene.

“We’re thrilled to have Hector as our first signing,” said General Manager Daniel Collazo. “He’s a reliable goalkeeper with a winning mindset, and his extensive experience with local teams makes him a perfect fit for our club. Hector understands what it means to represent Las Vegas, both on and off the field, and he sets the standard for the type of player we want to build around.”

Casillas shared his excitement about joining the new club:
“I’m thankful to the ownership group for this opportunity and honored to be the first player in Turf Monsters history,” said Casillas. “Las Vegas is home and I’m excited to work, compete, and help build something special here in this community, playing the game I love.”

Casillas will immediately join the team’s preparations as Las Vegas gears up for its first season of competition.
